Since 2016, Scott McAdow has served as a student teacher supervisor with the University of Houston's instrumental music education program. Scott McAdow oversees student teachers and works with middle and high school band programs across Texas.
Mr. McAdow brings nearly 20 years of Texas public school band directing experience to his university work. His last public school position was director of bands at Campbell Middle School, where the symphonic band received the Foundation for Music Education’s 2015 National Wind Band Honors Commended Winner Award.
Previously, Mr. McAdow directed bands at Langham Creek High School from 1991 to 2008. During that period, the school’s symphonic band performed at Carnegie Hall, Chicago’s Symphony Center, and Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. The program also received the John Philip Sousa Foundation’s Sudler Flag of Honor and Sudler Shield of Honor.
Mr. McAdow holds a master of music in applied conducting from the University of Houston and a bachelor of music education degree from the University of North Texas.
